Guardamar is situated close to Torrevieja. The two towns are connected by a magnificent beach, which is backed by pine tree planted dunes that stretch for 17 kilometres. 

Much of this area has been declared a Conservation Area or ‘Parque Natural’ and the Local Authority has converted part of the pinewood into a wonderful park with excellent picnic facilities and picturesque walks through the pines down to the sea.  This is a perfect place for a Spanish picnic.
